Folks were complaining that the “official” Radio ID Database was slow and unreliable, I decided to make my own.

The way my implementation works is as follows (see fig. 1):
- Every hour, a scheduled task downloads the latest database data dump from radioid.net (in CSV format).
- Another scheduled task imports this data into my server’s mySQL database.
- A user (you) accesses my web interface and preforms the search
- PHP code searches the mySQL database and spits out your results,
Although the site can be accessed via any web browser, I optimized the interface to work very well on phones and tablets.
